What kind of central heating system is right for you?

Generally, you will have 3 choices –

Gas central heating boilers are split into three types, combi, regular (conventional) and condensing systems.

A combi boiler will power your central heating radiators and provide hot water on demand. There is no requirement for a hot water tank when you have a combi boiler. A combi boiler is also suitable for flats or where space for a tank is at a premium and when you need regular hot water on demand. Combi boilers are now the most commonly fitted central heating boilers.
A conventional boiler and a system boiler heat your radiators and a separate hot water tank or cylinder. A system boiler integrates a built in pump for the radiators where a regular boiler uses a separate pump. Both regular and system boilers are suitable for larger houses with several bathrooms and showers where there is more demand for hot water or when used in conjunction with solar water heating.
Condensing boilers extract latent heat from the exhaust gases through the use of a condensate and heat exchanger. Condensing boilers are generally the most efficient boilers, but there are some conditions which must be met before we can fit one. We will advise you in more detail about this when we visit you.
